Dirk Is Getting Rest, Kidd Probably Needs Some
The Dallas Mavericks are on their way to what is assuredly to be a very good season, if not an excellent one... hopefully, they don't meet the Golden State Warriors again in the postseason. Barring a hot streak, there aren't too many teams that will be able to contend with the Mavs and one reason that may be true come NBA Playoffs time is the cutback in minutes that Dirk Nowitzki is getting from the get-go of this season. Unlike the turmoil in the New Jersey Nets locker room, the Mavericks and Dirk are feeling good. Something which is the exact opposite of Jason Kidd.
The Los Angeles Clippers suffer another injury to star player, Corey Maggette. Fortunately, it's nothing close to the severity of Elton Brand or Shaun Livingston's injuries. And apparently, things are just not kind to players of Los Angeles as the Los Angeles Lakers' Kwame Brown is out indefinitely. Look for Andrew Bynum to take advantage of the extra minutes and help keep Kobe Bryant from playing somewhere else.
The Division Reports will have a different format moving forward as I will be splitting them up by Conference instead of hitting you all at once with 30 team reports. Some digestion is in order after reading such insightful analysis from the team of About.com division reporters! Here's the Eastern Confernece: Atlantic Division (Brendan Sullivan), Central Division (Tom Lewis), and Southeast Division (Austin Kent).
